Ceremony in the garden, reception in the courtyard, dinner in the hall, dancing until it gets light. At the Cordeshof in Berlin-Grunewald the whole day happens in one place – and on that day it belongs to you alone.
The Cordeshof is a wedding venue in Berlin-Grunewald with a garden for the ceremony, a courtyard for the reception and a listed brick hall for the rest of the night.
It begins in the garden. Beneath the trees you say “I do” while the afternoon sun falls through the leaves. Then the party moves into the courtyard: raising glasses, embracing, finally introducing your great-aunt to your best friend.
When darkness falls, the second part of the day begins. The listed brick hall carries more than a hundred years of history in its walls, and on this evening yours is added to them. First there is eating and talking at long tables, then dancing. You need look after nothing except each other.
And at some point, late in the night, you stand outside in the courtyard once more, look back at the lit-up hall and know: this is exactly how it should be.

This is how your day could look.
- ArrivingYour guests enter the grounds through the courtyard, where sparkling wine and water are already waiting for them in the shade of the hall roof. Anyone arriving by S-Bahn is here within a few minutes on foot from Messe Süd station.
- The ceremonyThe ceremony takes place beneath the trees in the garden. The chairs are set in rows or in an open semicircle, and the musicians are so close that they need no amplification at all. Should it rain, you simply move into the hall, which is no less beautiful for this moment.
- The receptionAfterwards, the garden and courtyard belong to your guests for a good two hours. There is a flying buffet and, later, coffee and cake; the children romp across the meadow, and in front of the old brick wall the photographs are taken that you will still enjoy looking at many years from now. Meanwhile, indoors, the tables are quietly being laid.
- The dinnerFor dinner, everyone takes their seats at long tables in the hall. From our kitchen comes either a seated menu or a meal served family style, with the dishes passed from hand to hand along the table. Anyone wishing to give a speech speaks from the gallery and has the whole party in view from up there.
- The nightLater in the evening a band or a DJ plays on the stage, the bar stays open, and over the course of the night the dance floor tends to get fuller rather than emptier. Anyone who needs a break sits outside by the fire and looks up at the starry sky above the Grunewald. Indoors there is no curfew.
- The morning afterThose who wish can have breakfast together in the house once more the next morning, while we quietly clear away in the background. By then we will already have loaded your presents into your car, which is waiting for you in the courtyard.
No rings required: private celebrations.
Whether a milestone birthday, an anniversary, a family gathering or a graduation party: the Cordeshof offers the right setting for every occasion. You celebrate in the same place as a wedding couple, only entirely on your own terms, in a small circle or on just as grand a scale.
- For small parties, the gallery is enough.
- If you do not wish to fill the whole hall, you celebrate upstairs on the gallery with its old wooden floor and look down from there into the room. The gathering stays intimate and easy to keep an eye on, and yet everything the house has to offer is at your disposal.
- For larger celebrations, there is the garden as well.
- In summer the garden becomes the festival ground: the grill is lit, beer benches stand beneath the trees, and the music plays on the meadow. The hall stands ready all the while, as a safe retreat if it rains and, later in the evening, as the dance floor.
- Discretion goes without saying here.
- The grounds cannot be seen from outside, the gate stays closed, and only those you have invited know the way in. So your celebration remains entirely yours and does not find its way onto social media unasked.
Questions couples ask us
Which spaces are suitable for weddings?
At long tables or round tables your party sits comfortably in the hall, with a dance floor. For a standing reception the room can be used more openly. Larger weddings celebrate in the garden; the hall then remains the dance floor for the night.
Can we also hold our ceremony at the Cordeshof?
Celebrant-led ceremonies are possible in the garden beneath the old trees, or in the hall if it rains. For a civil ceremony on site we are happy to speak with the responsible registry office, Charlottenburg-Wilmersdorf; whether an outdoor ceremony is approved is for the office to decide.
Is there a curfew?
Not in the hall. Outside in the garden the usual Berlin quiet hours apply from 10 pm, after which the music moves indoors – the hall is built for it.
Do we have to use the Cordeshof’s catering?
No. Our team is happy to cook and pour for you, but you can also bring your own caterer. The kitchen, three-phase power and deliveries via the courtyard are open to any caterer.
What does a wedding at the Cordeshof cost?
That depends on the number of guests, the season, the day of the week and whether you want only the venue or also technical production, catering and staff from us. That is why there is no price list, but a quote within two working days of your enquiry, with every item listed and no small print.
How do our guests get home?
Messe Süd S-Bahn station is a few minutes’ walk away, and the S-Bahn runs late into the night; the City West is only minutes away. Taxis and ride services find Cordesstraße without difficulty, and anyone coming by car parks in the courtyard.
